About Little Kanawha Transit Authority
Although the Little Kanawha Bus has been around for about 10 years, Little Kanawha Transit Authority (LKTA) formally began operations on July 1, 2008. Its 5-person board of directors includes representation from each of the counties in the LKTA service area – Calhoun, Jackson and Roane.
Although our formal name is now Little Kanawha Transit Authority, we will continue to operate under the name Little Kanawha Bus.
Our Mission
Little Kanawha Transit Authority seeks to provide safe, reliable, and affordable transportation to the people in our operating area. Although we serve the public as a whole, we will take extra efforts to serve the needs of persons with disabilities and the elderly. We will make every effort to see that our citizens have access to the transportation they require to assure their quality of life.
